FATHERHOOD

In a hood where a man has to see

Farther than an eagle's vision -

Fatherhood

Have you seen a feather?

Weightless as it is yet teaching the father that this hood is a different ball game altogether

Childhood is soothingly rich with cares and going

Through the incomparably rich memories of boyhood

With adulthood standing at the door patiently and 

Manhood smiling at him with the ultimate likelihood that he will be hugged with the arms of parenthood

And given the thorned-sofa of fatherhood

 Father, hasn't fatherhood taught you to look further?

Performing both motherhood and fatherhood 

Taking the role of motherhood in her absence

Fatherhood has a large neighborhood and

With great power comes great responsibilities

Father, your responsibilities are great and

They have been discharged well

If not, visit boyhood again!

Father! You have seen and gone far!

GATEKEEPER OF HUMANITY

You who

Came into being from the ribs of man

And had an ancient duty of becoming the

Gatekeeper of humanity

 

The fertility of your womb

Received the availability of one sperm which

Carried the density of Destiny

And having gone through the brutality of childbirth

You launched Destiny into the world

As the Gatekeeper of Humanity

 

From the Two Divine Waterfalls

You nourished Destiny with the right nutrients

Accrued from the labour of nine moons and

Created by the Keeper of Humanity

 

Counting time in the heartbeat of patience

You have watched Destiny fully grown

The man-woman who was then a child

And the mother-father role you

Performed magnificently well

Repelling the cries with tender lullaby

And ensuring that Destiny had the knowledge of

Knowing the density of your dreams unfulfilled

 

The sacrifices made and the sounds of sweats

Echoing from the four winds reminding Destiny

That faith is ripe and due to be harvested in its season

 

It shall come to pass before the blessed silver strands

Emerge that Destiny fulfils the dreams unfulfilled

Be rest assured Gatekeeper of Humanity

Faith and Hope are harvested as Destiny

Blooms propelling a precious sob in praise of

The Keeper of Humanity.

ATTITUDE

You have been belitttled

In the eyes of all

The spiritual precedes the natural

And the natural is left to decay under the sun

You have been rejected and forgotten 

In the arena of the youth 

Who seek spiritual growth 

No!

Spiritual "Bulldozership"

Yet having a deficiency of attitude

Spirit is Spirit and

Flesh is flesh

You who needs more attention:

Delicate, malleable, ductile and gullible

Yet having a strong aura to make or unmake man

All marked with the insignia of strength

Have left you to rust and corrode

Forgetting how indispensable you are

Spiritual "Bulldozership" without the right attitude

Equals myopic spirituality

Listen and hear!

He who forgets to craft

The best out of attitude

Yet maintaining a higher pedigree of 

Cultivating spiritual knowledge

Lacks the understanding of attitude

The church is a spiritual body

But not made up of spirits

How the great have fallen!

How the mighty have fallen due to negligence of attitude

Your attitude is a complete summary of you -

Visible to all

After that your spirituality

Spirit is spirit and flesh is flesh

Now these two remain:

Spirituality and attitude

Master both and leave none 

To decay under the sun!
